Previously I had problems with my display driver crashing so I followed some of the advice given on here reinstalling drivers, windows and checking to see if my graphics card is seated properly. I formatted my drives and attempted to reinstall windows 8 but as it completed preparing the drivers it said something about a TDK error, then as I tried again it showed me this message

But if I run ubuntu it runs fine, i have not tested if i can run anything graphically intense on unbuntu cause I'm to new to it to try get anything like games to work.
Could this be my nvidia drivers not uninstalling and stopping the graphics on windows or is it just my graphics card dieing?

I also had these errors as BSOD
Video TDR failure
Dpc Watchdog Violation
and Recovery error ocx0000098 with the file \boot\BCD but this was when I tried to completely uninstall windows from my hard drive.

Before it looked like a problem with my display driver, as the display driver kept crashing when trying to play games and even on the desktop sometimes force restarting itself (although it never crashed in safe mode), reinstalling got games to work and stopped the display driver crashes, but an hour of playing games later the display driver crashed came back so i decided to format the drive that had windows on it to try completely get rid of any nvidia drivers. Thats when the crashes got worse when i tried to finish installing windows giving me BSODS and the lines pictured above, before it just looked like it had moved half of the text diagonally down, no signs of verticle or horizontal lines til i formatted and tried to reinstall windows.
