Hey guys, gonna buy a new GPU soon. Here are my specs:
Intel i5 3570
8 GB Kingston RAM
5800 RPM HDD
(Onboard HD2500 graphics)
Some 500 watt PSU
Now, I realize that I'm gonna have to change my PSU, so if you can, you can also recommend the required voltage. Also, I know that GPUs are progressing very fast, but the GPU is gonna have to last a while. So, any suggestions?
PS: I need a nice powerful GPU with reasonable price for performance.
Oops, forgot mobo. It's an ASUS P8-H77

Um, I' m looking at about $300 for PSU and no limit for GPU.
By the way, mobo if required is ASUS P8-H77.

300 bucks just for a PSU :ouch: by the way you still haven't specified whether your gonna game on it or not

ok here is the PSU : Corsair CX 600 http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0092ML0OC/?tag=pcpapi-20 @ 58$

and here is the GPU: MSI geforce GTx 660ti twin frozr edtion http://us.ncix.com/products/?usaffiliateid=1000031504&sku=75201&vpn=N660TI%20PE%202GD5%2FOC&manufacture=MSI%2FMicroStar&promoid=1393 $ 289 after MIR

oops, sorry, umm, yeah, I mean to do some heavy gaming, like crysis 3 and BF3. The PSU, well, my bad, I thought it was expensive. I would prefer a single card GPU, meaning even a card that combines the power of 2, if you know what I mean. It just has to be powerful. Thanks anyway.

a single card GPU with the power of 2? so you want a dual GPU solution in a single PCB like GF GTX 690 and radeon HD 7990.well GF GTX 780 has already been announced so it wont take long for GTX 790 to arrive best if you wait for that.that card may be alot powerful than current dual GPU solution. but why do you need a dual gpu card? Gforce GTX 780 should fill your needs unless your gaming in high res with high anti aliasing and filtering in those games.

The reason is I don't want to have to go and replace my card every 6 months or so. It's just not good for my budget. Also, there is no such guarantee that newer ones may perform better, even if so theoretically. I do want high quality graphics, but it will only be at a small res for now - 1280 x 1024. I did consider the 780 OR the 690 (I am prepared to overlook microstutters for now) because I feel it (690) can and will be able to top future games for a while, but I'm still looking for some professional opinions. Thanks, anyway.

690 is a good choice but you might wanna look into GTX 790 [ when it comes] it may be twice as powerful than the current GTX 690 [ if nvidia uses 2 GTX 780]. but id actually recommend getting a bigger monitor for now. wait a few weeks and see rest of the GF 700 series line up [ 790 may posibly be there, or nvidia doesn't release it at all] i wouldn't recommend anything under 1080p and for 1080p i can recommend GTX 770 which is one of the best cards money can buy imo.

yeah im guessing 1500$ total would be 1300$ and the other 200$ will be commission for nvidia :/
