Howdy.

I've a fan of the site for awhile and I often come here when I have a problem but this time I'm afraid I'm not gonna find my answers in someone else's thread. As I described in the title my computor freezes very often, it freeze's most often when I try to use 3ds Max.

I have checking in my event viewer and I have afew errors although none of them led me to a possible fix. Any steps I can take to try and narrow down the problem would be appreciated.

Seems obvious to me the Graphics card is causing the freezes. The 3ds Max application seems to be putting a high demmand on the GPU, it also seems the GPU may be having a problem... try lowering the video settings, check the GPU is properly seated on the socket, check it's not overheating, reinstall the video drivers, if it's overclocked set it to normal clock, check/replace the Power Supply.. click on the link for ideas on video card diagnostics.

The computer staying on when you press the reset button may be due to wrong Power button settings in the Control Panel \ Options \ Advanced settings. This type of issues can also happen when the PSU has developed a problem. Another Power Supply, maybe even with higher wattage... may solve the problem.
