i want to buy a 600w psu because im upgrading my pc for hardcore gaming needs.is it ok for my pc if i use a local company psu or should i use a branded psu like a coolermaster or corsair.what happens if i use a local company psu?
dont ever use generic/local PSU. as they use low quality material. i read an article where a generic PSU caught fire due to load and burned it self and the PC up. and also people say coolermaster PSU's are also crappy so id say use antec seasonic and XFX psu's

Well. Every single company has low/medium end PSUs (except for seasonic and companies that doesn't offer cheap PSUs lol)
The Corsair CX series is pretty average.... so is the lower end Antec ones...
Pretty much just choose from corsair (the ones made by seasonic) , antec, seasonic, power pc and cooling, xfx (made by seasonic) and a couple other brands....
Coolermaster GX series is below average... just don't try to push it to the extremes.
^ These guys are correct. You can trust Corsair, Seasonic, PC Power and Cooling, XFX, Silverstone, Enermax, OCZ, Antec and the higher efficiency Rosewill units. Avoid Coolermaster and Thermaltake.

is this psu good?
go for the CX version or above of corsair's line up. also realize in the computer hardware industry, there are very few "local" companies. most coolers, cases, PSU, fans, even many video cards are made by companies other then the brand on the packaging.
They don't got CX series in Asia mostly since it's more costly to make a PSU that supports 100-240V input... it's mostly VS/VX series made for the region. (since it ONLY takes 200-240v input)
And the VS is also cheaper lol. just no bronze certification.
how much cx costs?
wouldnt this work for a year or two the vs series?
What's your computer's specs?
I'm pretty sure if you're that worried on the price, a VS 550 would be plenty unless you got a SLI/CFX set-up going and overclocking the SLI/CFX set-up...
