Got a beasty computer, AMD FX6300
4Gb DDR3 RAM
GTX650 2GB OC Graphics
etcc

but, i cannot get 1440 x 900 resolution on my monitor over VGA or HDMI.
well i can if i force it in custom resolution, but it doesnt fit, and looks really blurry!

I have got 1440 x 900 over vga on this monitor before nice and clear when ive used my crappy old laptop to plug it in to my monitor.

drivers are up to date, please help!

Just going to add 4gigs of ram is a huge bottleneck for that graphics card. I wont go into the CPU becuase thats preference but 4 gigs of ram is a huge bottleneck for a decent midgrade gpu. Are you installing drivers for the moniter or just your graphics card?

why would it be a bottleneck? the computer runs lightning fast and never hangs.
I'm just having this issue of the resolution... I installed the nvdia latest drivers for the card, and now even the monitor drivers, still no luck.

The option is only there when i add it as a custom resolution.

Becuase most new games use alot more then 4 gigs of ram let alone windows itself will use just over 1gb running leaving you with just shy of 3 gb. 8gb is a standard for gaming computers, 4 gbs is ok if this is just going to be used as a workstation and for basic computing. I havnt seen a computer with 4gb of ram in a very long time, even my gf's cheap laptop came with 8gb

only if you're running a ton of things in the background........

I'm running dual monitors, guild wars 2, firefox with 10+ tabs open skype, steam, and and i'm barely hitting 4 GB of ram usage... (no virus scanner in the back though)

Yeah but you dont want to hit anywhere near your max amount of ram... this will cause unessasary slow down and you have 8gb of ram so hitting near 4 gb is fine. If all you had was 4gb of ram you would see horrible preformance loss. Some games like BF3 bump ram usage into the 6-6.5 gb ram usage area. 8gb is alot safer to go for when gaming to future proof your system alot more and to no worry about ram consumption at all.

You made a custom 1440 x 900 profile under nvidia driver suite and it didnt work?

Yeah I've done that and it still doesn't fit:-(
Goes really small in the middle of my screen and blurry.
Don't auto adjustment etc.
For now I'm on 1366 x 768 and its just a little clear but doesn't look right as it supposed be at 1440 x 900.
