No matter what I do I cannot format the Dell Latitude e5420 hard drive.

I'm trying to install Windows 7 and it just won't format.

I've tried with the Windows 7 disk and with Gparted.

What Can I do?

It#s possibly a bios setting or something but the drive has Windows 7 on it now (that needs formatted).

The drive currently lists the drive as unallocated yet a Windows install is on there.

Please help guys. It's starting to drive me nuts.

I know on some Dells, there is a bios option for allow OS install which needs to be enabled. These were older models so I'm not sure if it applies in your case. Good luck!
