My xfx Radeon HD 5870 is having problems.

I bought a video card xfx radeon HD 5870 (1 gb) like 10 months ago. I had not used it until a week ago, because my computer was not build at that time.

I also have an Asus sabertooth 990fx, 8 gb Gskills ram, 750W cooler master power supply and AMD FX 8350 (4.0 Ghz)

Here´s my question: I tried to play some games such as ''Need for speed 2012'', ''Skyrim'', ''Farcry 2'', ''Assassin's Creed'' and "Battlefield 3". In all the games the video card had problems, like loss of image, freezing, and error messages.

I tested the video card in my friend's Motherboard, no problems. Then I put his video card into my Motherboard, again no problems, but when I try my video card and my motherboard both together, the issues come. We have the same operating system and the same drivers.

I don't really know what's going on with my video card or the other components. I was thinking that it can be a problem between my Video Card and my Mother board such as incompatibility.

He has a XFX Radeon HD 6950 (1gb gddr5), and his PSU is 1100W. His video card worked perfectly in my PC.
  3. HD 6870 (there's nothing like 6890..:D ) use lesser power than 5870..

Easy test, borrow your friend's PSU, and test in your system..
there's a big possibility that your system will work..

Sorry for the delay. I couldn´t test my video card until yesterday. It didn´t work with my friend´s PSU, but I think that could be a problem in my games, because after I tested with his PSU, I tried his games, then the video card worked perfectly.

It is very unusual that all of my games had problems. Until I change my video card, I will play low and medium games.

    Thanks for your help.
