Almost a month ago my monitor stopped receiving ¨signal¨ when connected to my graphic card. This was right after a blackout and i had no chance at all of turning off my computer correctly.

There´s no video at all, just simply the ¨no signal¨. I cleaned both my card and the slot yet nothing.

My GPU was or hopefully is a Radeon HD 6850 about 3-5 months old.

I haven´t tried much to see if it is busted or isn´t. It could be the VGA to DVI convertor, it could be the slot (Yet right now im using the internal graphic card) but honestly i don´t know.

Wish you could help me out here.

Test your card in a friend's computer.

It could be the card or the power supply lost part of itsel in the brown out.
The only way to tell is plug anther card into your pc and see if it works and plug the gpu into another pc. On some new mb check o
And or clear and reset the CMOS. Most new x68 and x77 chipsets will default to onboard gpu if there an issue. Most times you have to turn on multi monitor support and then set the peg/pci as first video device.

The only way to know if it's either the slot or the adapter is to try different slots on your motherboard with different and preferably native cables.

Other than that, there's a pretty good chance it got fried during the blackout.
