usb dosent detects

Try going to your control panel and click on AutoPlay then put a check in the box at the top of the list that says Use AutoPlay for all removable media and devices if it is not already checked.
Another way is to plug in the pen drive, then go to my computer or just computer and see if you see the drive if so right click on it then click open.

It was only a couple of suggestions, I always hope that it is something simple that may have been overlooked. And believe me I am definitely not a noob, But i have made a stupid mistake or two by missing the obvious, lol.
Not referring to you but there are a lot of noobs asking for help on this site and we all were noobs at one time so it's understandable.

No problem my friend, Hope you get it worked out. Nothing more frustrating than having something not work correctly. If you have not tried it already Go to the motherboard manufacturer's website and down load the latest drivers, Have a good one.
