I'm doing a pretty basic build (intel core i3220, amd radeon 7770, 8gb ram) and I can get an H61 mobo for like $50 or a Z77 for like $90. Which is the way to go? cause H61 is kinda old and it doesn't seem like people use it any more.

More about : h61 z77

Go for either H77 or B75. The H61 is good, but some need to be updated to support Ivy Bridge. If you can, get a Haswell i3 when it comes out with a newer mobo.

yeah go with H77 or B75. Z77 is kinda irrelevant in core i3-3220.

agree with the others, the "Z" series motherboards are designed for overclocking mainly "k" series Intel CPUs

Thx man! I think im guna get a H61 cause the one im getting says it supports ivy bridge and is an Asus, which is a reputable brand. It looks obvious that the Z series is beyond what I need.
