FX-8350 vs i5-3570k

FX-8350 vs i5-3570k
I'll be using it for gaming and I'll be overclocking both.
I've heard that AMD's CPUs use more power and Intel are more reliable.
I'm looking for a non-bias opinion as a lot of people are giving their preferences.
I know that the AMD is slightly cheaper but not enough to change my choice.
My GPU will be a GTX660 and I'll have 8gb of RAM.

For games the 3570k is usually better, the only exception I know of is Crysis 3 where the 8350 does a bit better. Also Intel is releasing its new Haswell cpu's in a couple weeks.

It's a tough call, with future games being more multi-threading and all you'll have an advantage with the 8-core amd, but past / recent games run better on the i5 so it's your call.

although I have heard/read that in most situations, the 8350 is about even wth the 3570k in terms of performance

ok. if money is no object i'd say get the intel. unless you're planning on some very specific multicore tasks the i5 will be the better chip both stock and overclocked.

that said, there are some small points i'd like to make.

1) if you enjoy overclocking and like tinkering with your pcs settings, then the AMD will be more rewarding as overclocking it is a far more complex process then overclocking the intel. you can achieve a high end stable overclock on the intel in 2-4 hours of tinkering. it can take weeks of playing to get the AMD dialed in right. Since i like fooling around with my system, i tend to like the complexities of overclocking an FX chip

2) no idea where you got the idea that "intel cpus are more reliable then AMD cpus" Frankly, the number of times i've seen a cpu from either company break down is pretty small. both companies make very reliable products. If you run into a problem with your new system, 99 times out of 100 it will be the mb/psu/ram and even hd before you come across a cpu issue

That said, since money is no issue to you you can't go wrong with the i5. generally i only point people to amd if they're working with a small budget. and then only if there isn't a way to achieve what they want with an intel system at that budget.
