I have a raid setup-Dell 630i, factory Nvidia controller, dell bios with two 500gb drives acting as 1 1tb drive, stripping i believe-running win7 ultimate. I also have a pulled a drive-Out of dell xps 420- with windows vista home premium 750gb no raid single drive-acting up i think windows is shot-that I need to pull data off of-pics, scanned files, ect- I tried to install it but it will not load my Raid Win7 at boot menu, it pushed for win Vista and blue screens out. My question is am I doing something wrong? Or can you not slave in a single drive to a raid configuration? All Drives are SATA.

stripped raid requires both/all raid drives to be installed at all times. Adding a single drive into the system should not be a problem, just attach it to another controller and make sure you are set to boot off the raid in the bios. You can even attach the single drive while the computer is running. Just attach the power cable first and let the drive spin up to speed and then attach the sata cable.
