I'm trying to put together a gaming rig (mostly Eve Online), for 5 monitors.

One 27" monitor, four 22" monitors.

My original idea was to have 3 cards, thinking nvidia GTX 670's, one card for the 27" display, and the other two will get two 22" displays each.

I'm assuming it's possible to have the cards get their own displays to work with without SLI. Is it?

Would I need liquid cooling for this, or would some adequate air ventilation be enough?

Thanks.

you can do this perfectly fine with one 7970 eyefinity 6 edition, you will need either all the monitors to have display port or get a breakout box for 3 displays from 1 displayport on the card and use 2 dvi ports on a normal 7970 card with 2dvi and a display port or hdmi dvi displayport.

Will one card be able to handle all 5 displays? I thought eyefinity was to have all the monitors work together to have one resolution.

Would a 7990 be able to do the same thing?
