I'm looking to buy a graphics card for gaming (BO2, BF3/4, Arma 2/3, DayZ, Minecraft, etc) and I can get a Evga 670 Signature 2 for $420 or a Msi Twin Frozr III 680 for $433. Should this be a no brainer to go for the 680 or would it even make a difference? Thanks in advance

How so? They are coming out in a week or so.

If you mean they won't be any better, I can see your point. The 780 being a chopped down Titan with a ludicrous price tag, supposedly, and the 770 just a 680. Either way, GPU Boost 2.0 is a pretty big thing, no more stupid voltage locks.

I'm not really interested in the 700 series right now because I saw today that one of them releases next thursday and will be 600 dollars. That's out of my price range. I'm looking to spend around 450 and try not to go over 470. Sorry I should have included that in the main post.

Theres like 20 current titles, not many of them recent. Not a whole lot to buy a card over considering the extra speed of the 7970, in my opinion atleast.

Though if you are planning to run a dual GPU setup in the future you will certainly want to stick to Nvidia.

I think I'd like to stick to Nvidia over AMD. From some benchmark reviews I've looked at the 680 seems to be on par with a 7970ghz edition for about 30 dollars less. The thing I'm not sure about is sticking with a Evga 670 Signature 2 or going to a MSI twin frozr III

Well I'm not looking at just the coolers, I was considering the 670 Signature 2 because it has a non reference cooler and clock speeds of a GTX 680 most likely has good OC potential. I was thinking the 680 twin frozr would probably OC even more than the Sig 2 though?

You can't buy any of them based on overclocking, its completely luck. You can however buy with certainty when choosing based on a cooler.

If you are going to overclock and are limited to those, the MSI is the better pick because of the better cooler, it will make the noise more bearable.
