asus x501a won't post

i have a asus x501a and after changing some bios settings it does not post and the screen does not turn on, I don't understand why because the settings were just related to boot options and priority. ive attempted all sorts including removing the cmos battery, moving the ram about, using another hdd, booting with no hdd, etc etc anybody any ideaS?

If you removed the CMOS battery, that should essentially reset any changes that you've made previously to the BIOS; so I don't think it is related to any changes that you've made in the BIOS settings. If the screen does not turn on at all, you might have a hardware defect. Did you make sure everything went back into place properly when you opened up the notebook?
