Hey all--
Got me a new rig here
3570k
asetek 510 liquid cooler push/pull config
ASRock z77e-itx
256 sandisk ssd
500gb WD scorpio black(not yet installed)
Corsair 8gb vengence
MSI Radeon 7950
corsair cx600
120mm specter front panel

Any advise on a fan set up for this case?
Thinking of a 200mm specter on the front
Would an extra 120mm(or 2) on the top of the case be beneficial for possible exhaust?? or intake?
thanks

I am not really sure what you can do to lower the heat in such a small case to be truthful. I guess it is just me but I just do no understand taking high end components and shoving them into a case that is to small to even disparate the heat from a low end GPU let alone a 7950.

How ever two 120mm fan on the tom removing heat from the case might do it. That case has a front fan pulling air in does it not? But if I remember from the pictures the front fan is blocked by the hard drive cage. And from what components you have I would guess the back is in use by your CPU water cooler correct? so that leaves the top fan mounts to get rid of the heat.

And please I was not trying to slam your choose in cases as with most computer components that is a personal choose. I myself only build in Full Towers which some find to big so each to there own on that.

yeah no worries, its not for all...the case is actually big enough for good airflow. I've taken out the hard drive cages to fit the GPU, so honestly theres tons of room. You should look up configs for this case before you give advise, it is very spacious for an itx case.

Are using an optical drive or the bay for a fan controller? If not you can remove the bay and add a 200 or 230mm front fan. The bitfenix specter 230 pro pulls big air and use the top grill for 2x 120mm and the rear 120 or 140 exhaust or rad.

Edit: To install either 200 or 230mm fan you do NOT have to lose your optical or lose the 5.25 bay at all. My mistake and my apologies.

Do you have your liquid cooler mounted to the rear exhaust fan? My Prodigy has front and rear 140MM fans and a 120MM fan on the top.

What is your CPU clocked at because I get great temps in my case and I am using a Coolermaster Hyper 212 Evo

You can install a front 200MM fan if you remove the optical drive, however I suggest you get two high perfomance 140MM fans and then mount your CPU RAD to the top 120MM vent

Yeah, I just added a 200mm front intake, and moved my extra 120mm to the top(behind the optical, which i may get rid of soon) as exhaust.. I should keep it as exhaust, or intake for my liquid cooler which is set on the rear with 120mm exhaust mounted on it

yeah i like that setup, I put a 200mm in the front and its night/day how much that helped.. i put the 120mm on top as exhaust. My main concern is my rad is on the back mounted to the exhaust fan (rear) is it sucking hot air or now since my 200mm is moving it's getting fresh cool air.. Also, should I have my top 120mm as exhaust for head from mobo and everything to raise out, or extra intake to get mnore air to rad?
add: how about taking my optical out and adding another 120mm as intake as well, so utilize both areas to mount fans on top... also, I NEED to get rid of this asetek 510 liquid cooler, thinking replacing with EVO 212, or carsair, h60/70/80/or 100i.. you like ur 212, sounds like air coolers are the way to go in this case???

With your 200MM in the front pulling in loads of fresh air, I will say that all the rest of your fans should be for exhaust. The only other way to possibly lower your temps is if you were able to mount the rad to the front of the case, however I think you will benefit more by having the 200MM fan in the front and just mounting the rad to the back.

What is you're idle and full load temps with you evo212? and what are they at OC if you do OC?
