It's time I got into gaming again. I had a gaming pc years ago, but I just couldn't keep up with all the new and expensive parts.

Approximate Purchase Date: e.g.: this week

Budget Range: 500gbp after everything

System Usage from Most to Least Important: gaming then general usage

Are you buying a monitor: No

Parts to Upgrade: I have nothing to re use

Do you need to buy OS: No

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: scan.co.uk preferably

Location: UK

Parts Preferences: nothing in particular, just good performance over all

Overclocking: Maybe

SLI or Crossfire: No

Your Monitor Resolution: 1920x1080

Additional Comments: My expectations are real for this so I know I can't max everything and all, but I need to focus on gaming.

And Most Importantly, Why Are You Upgrading: I am in need of a gaming/general use pc. My laptop is way out of date.

Sorry about that. Games like bf3, borderlands 2, possibly be ready for bf4 if that would be possible, and other than that just cod and source games. Thanks.

This is really the cheapest I could get. Unfortunately the cuts I had to make to get it even close to £500 make future upgrades a moot point. It'll run Battlefield 3 perfectly fine though - the 3350P is solid, and the 7870 XT is essentially a 7950 with a couple bits disabled, but the performance loss is negligible compared to the money you save.

My advice to you would be to wait until you have at least £650 on hand. Then you'll be able to build a much more substantial (and overclockable) rig with a lot more opportunities to upgrade later on.
