Hello everybody,

My computer stopped working a few days ago, when I power it up the fans are spinning but nothing appears on the screen and there's not the usual beep when the computer starts up.

I tried different things, like trying just 1 stick of ram in case one or the other was bad, disconnecting hard drive, removing cmos battery, but no success. When I start the pc sometimes it reboot immediately by itself.

It also gives me a beep code, I recorded it heres the link to listen it

My motherboard is an MSI P67A-G45

After the beep codes the fans start spinning really fast.

If any of you can help me with that beep code and help me find what's the problem I would be very thankful

If it is an AMI BIOS (which I think it is)....are here the beep codes.

1 short - DRAM refresh failure
2 short - Parity circuit failure
3 short - Base 64K RAM failure
4 short - System timer failure
5 short - Process failure
6 short - Keyboard controller Gate A20 error
7 short - Virtual mode exception error
8 short - Display memory Read/Write test failure
9 short - ROM BIOS checksum failure
10 short - CMOS shutdown Read/Write error
11 short - Cache Memory error
1 long, 3 short - Conventional/Extended memory failure
1 long, 8 short - Display/Retrace test failed

Think I heard 5 beeps on what you recorded?.......5 short - Process failure
Might try to take out your cpu and see if all connectors are O.K. If so, place it back and sometimes it just might work again.
Just do not try to alter the connector pins of the CPU socket on the board, they will break.

No my MB doesn't have an integrated GPU, I use an external GPU card
There's no way to know which component is the problem without replacing one by one?

It begins with 4 beeps then followed by 5 short beeps yes... The 4 beeps at first are not to be considered?

I didn't find what Process failure is supposed to mean but I will try what you said
I have already tried to change the heat sink compound for cpu but it didn't change anything

4 beebps followed by 5. So far no idea. B.t.w, clearing your CMOS is usually done with the battery left in it's place and shortfuse it with the jumper (read the manual where to find the jumper). Aslo before doing that disconnect the following: Keyboard, mouse and all connectors that come from the Powersupply which are connected to your Motherboard.
Changing Heatsink Compound would only fix some heat problems.
