Today I bought a Themaltake TR2 600 watt power supply at my local Best Buy, as it is the only Power Supply they had. But when I looked up some reviews on it I saw some horrible things such as:

"The power supply was great for a couple of weeks. Then, it started buzzing insanely loud. I blew it out and it stopped buzzing for a week or so. Then, the buzzing came back and was worse, and when I looked at my computer, it had fried it. It is now broken and took my computer with it. And it was loud. Never buying Thermaltake again."

Now, I'm worried about hooking it up. Im in the process of building a new computer and I don't want to mess it up.
I also saw reviews on Corsair power supplys such as:

"DOA, wanted to confirm if it was my PC or the power supply, so I plugged in another PC, it also killed the MB."

Is this because people aren't hooking up something right or not taking care of their stuff?

I really don't want to mess up my PC.

Can anyone relieve me and give me some information please?

Is there a reason you want it from Best Buy?

The 80 plus , Bronze, Silver , Gold, etc are all efficiency ratings. The more efficient a supply is the less power it will draw from an outlet for a set system power delivery.

If your system is 80% efficient then a 400W system would draw 500W from the outlet
.8 x 500 = 400
If your system is 90% efficient then it would draw 444W
.9 x 444 = 400
Also that more efficient supply will run cooler since the inefficiency is usually lost as heat.
