acer laptop cpu upgrades possible?

Well i got a acer aspire 5733 with i3 380m cpu, hm55 mobo 989/988/g1 socket, and my bios is up to date at ver 1.10. now accoarding to the mobo and socket i can fit an i 7 in it. But my question is does acer limit me from doing the upgrade? Does their bios block upgrades? I tried to google it but cant find anything on the subject. Or does none of the acer stuff even matter and i can just put any cpu that the socket can hold?
P.S sorry for any grammar or spelling mistakes im kinda in a hurry typing this so i didnt really care

but what is wierd to me is the socket says FCPGA988 and my current cpu PGA988. is that gonna make a difference?
