The 5600k would definitely bottleneck the 7850.... if you get the 8320, you'll be set for the next 3-4 years at least. in terms of not bottlenecking the GPU

The 5600k should be enough for most games (assuming you are using your computer to play games). Upgrading to the 8320 will give a small performance increase. Are these two CPUs your only choices or are you building a PC from scratch?

I'm getting a feeling that 8 core is over killing it a bit and not really getting that much of an upgrade for the money

1+ again haha. As much as i like intel i have suggested this cpu several times and for about $120 it is mighty good. As long as the game is made for more then two cores it will be great. Games for two cores or less likely wont need a lot of cpu power making it still a good choice.
