overclocking e5200 in p4m900t-m2

how do i overclock my e5200?? when i overclock to 215 mhz it loads the os but when i play a game it crashes!!! after restarting it won't load the os anymore... when i overclock my cpu from 200 mhz to 215 mhz in comparison the performance of the cpu is 2.49 ghz to 2.69...

  1. they are an awesome overclocking chips had one myself and built 2 more with them for friends all had minimum speeds running round 3.75ghz mine ran at 3.9ghz on only a little extra volts, .2v from memory. your problem is you have a rubbish chipset in via. you really want to be running the p45 or x48 chipset for the best results. try adding a little extra volts if you have suitable cooling to rule that out 1.45v max if you can cool that and they should easily get 300mhz fsb remember to adjust you ram strap too if your mobo doesnt do it automatically!

    thank you for replying sir but i don't see a setting that changes the value of the voltage and i really thought that this was the problem.
  3. p4m900t-m2 is joke for overclocking . it's low chipset and forget OC and you need better chipset / better mobo .. just @ suggestion and good luck

    some mobo LGA 775 from Gigabyte / Asus / MSI ... P45 / P55 .. or just suggestion time to upgrade 3gen than OC
