Well, I didn't think it was a big deal to put together a computer without a legacy keyboard/mouse connector. My most used keyboard is a LED lit USB version.

Well, the system comes up so fast that the USB keyboard isn't recognized until after POST.

I can't get into BIOS most of the time and I can't get into safe mode because the keyboard isn't enabled until Windows starts up.

I have tried changing settings in BIOS that should have allowed the keyboard to be recognized, the one time I have been able to get in recently, but it didn't work.

Apparently, this is a problem with this motherboard and I have found several threads in different forums with the same issues. I have updated the BIOS from ASUS and I changed the default "partial USB" setting which should have enabled all USB devices during POST.

I do like the built-in WiFi and Bluetooth features that are part of this motherboard.

Other than not being able to get into BIOS and Safe Mode almost all of the time, I have no other issues, but if I have any problems I can't fix them. I already can't finish setting up the SSD partition for the Rapid Storage feature because I can't get into Disk Management without going in through Safe Mode, and this is another apparent issue with this board. I could try partitioning the drive from another computer, but it doesn't fix the root of the problem.

What alternatives are out there for the P877-V Deluxe that work?

Thanks.

As I understand it, that won't help.

The USB ports are not being powered up and recognized soon enough in the boot process, so an adapter that plugs into the USB port won't work.

If the USB ports aren't being recognized then you should never have EVER been able to get into the BIOS. You should be able to see the presence of the USB ports in BIOS (even if they are not individuallly listed). Have you tried to plug the Keyboard into different USB ports? Some mobos have difficulty with USB 2 and or USB 3 channels. A keyboard, which may be USB 2 may not play on a USB 3 port.

Another suggestion is to try another USB keyboard to see if it is that particular model.

I found a USB power setting buried in the Control Panel power settings advanced menu (W& Ult), and it was set to disable.

Next time the computer turns off, I'll see if the keyboard comes online differently, or if it goes offline (no illumination).
