My room tends to attract a high level of dust no matter how much I clean and hoover it. I am planning on building a PC in the next few weeks and would like any recommendations that help keep dust build up to a minimum. Any suggestions are appreciated.

The case should be no more than £150 and should be compatible with the following parts:

Make sure you got positive pressure (more CFM in than out) and put dust filters on your intake fans should to the trick.

The best way to keep dust out is to configure the airflow so that it is net positive, with fan filters on the intakes. If you have more intakes than exhaust, it will naturally blow air out of any small cracks/spaces in the case, and if your intakes are filtered, technically no dust should enter your machine at all. Here is a website that highlights some of the features of positive airflow: http://www.silverstonetek.com/techtalk_cont.php?tid=wh_...

I'm thinking of purchasing the Coolermaster HAF-X case. Do you have any suggestions for which dust filters I should use with it?

Some might think they are a little spendy, but I got a full set that is custom designed for my Corsair case from here: http://www.demcifilter.com/ . They are out of South Africa but I received my filters in a week or two, I think Vincent is the sales rep, very nice and helpful. I am pretty sure the HAF-X is a case they designed filters for, you can buy a full set of them or just the intake covers.

The link Chugot sent is a great information source. I have the same idea as you, clean filters instead of internal components. My newest filtered case is the NZXT H2. I love how easy it is to clean the filters. I also have an Antec 900 v2. It's just ok because you have to take the side panel off and unscrew some screws just to detach the filters for cleaning.

Plus the H2 has a hot swapable HDD bay on top that makes it easy to work on other folk's problematic HDD etc..
