CPU Cooler puts RAM under stress ( kind of )

Hi!

I'm currently building a PC and I'm using High Profile Corsair Vengeance and an aftermarket CPU Cooler but I have a problem, well two actually. The fan is a bit large and very slightly bends one of the RAM sticks (only slightly though). Will this damage the RAM or will it be okay?

My 2nd question is that the little spiky things on the bottom of my mobo are bent and to be honest I have no idea what they are.

Thanks for any help!

Hey Oscar

I used to have the high profile vengeance ram. it is made of aluminium not plastic, it is an extremely badly designed heat sink and doesn't really serve as a cooler, its more there for the aesthetics of the RAM module. My personal opinion is just take the stupid RAM heat sink off. I got so fed up with mine always being lose and looking tatty i removed it. You wont damage any components just bear in mind that the serial number of the module is stuck on the RAM cooler so be aware you will void it when you remove it. I wouldn't worry to much about that.
