AMD E-450 laptop CPU reaches 92 degrees, what can I do?

Hello,
I have aToshiba Satellite laptop. I regularly play games, Battelfield, Sims, warcraft, etc. But recently it has been shutting down abruptly even when plugged in. I noticed using CoreTemp that my CPU ad Graphics would run in excess of 88 degrees up to 95 degrees whilst playing these games. At idle the temp is usually about 60 degrees. I know these are high temps. esp since the TjMax is 115.
So really my question is, what is there that could be done about this, if anything?

In such situation, I think maybe your laptop has a weak cooling system. You may check if your laptop is full of dust, and find out if you have installed too many software. If your laptop is still hot, contact Toshiba's custom service or you will have to put your laptop in a room with an air-conditioner.

I was thinking that. that item you linked there does seem good. sadly it is way over priced here in the UK. $29 is stated price in your link. I looked it up on UK website of Amazon. in £33 or $51.
I was thinking however, my laptop is about 2 and a half years old. Would replacing the thermal paste be an appropriate solution?

I doubt new paste will get you where you need to be. The problem is removing heat from the system not just the CPU. I added a similar cooler to an old laptop and dropped the CPU temp 20 deg.

The case of the laptop ends up being a giant heatsink and getting proper airflow under it can do a lot to reduce the ambient temp inside. There are cheaper models. You can find them at any office store that sells laptops.

If this is a new problem, try to find a way to open the case and check for dust clogged fans and confirm they are actually spinning. Laptops usually have just a tiny airflow channel and once it gets clogged, you start baking components pretty quickly. I've seen quite a few laptops where overheating due to clogged duct/fan has killed the hard drive first.
