small case issue. Will this matter?

Ok so I upgraded my motherboard/cpu and power supply in my gaming pc. I got a fx 6300 and a gigabyte board from microcenter. Only issue is that this board is HUGE compared to the one I had before. It actually has to be under the PSU a little bit to fit. Here is a picture:

Do you think this will cause any long term damage/issues? I guess I can get a new case if necessary but I don't really want to. Just wanted to hear some opinions.

As long as the metal PSU case isn't touching any part of the board, it should be fine. You just don't want to have the PSU case ground out anything on the board. But, yes, it does look like you need a bigger case from what little I can see in the pic. Looks like you 'upgraded' to a faster PC for gaming (?) and hoped to avoid buying a new case, maybe?

It doesnt seem to be bending, but it is touching it/putting pressure on it. That power supply is modular and seems a little longer than the one it replaced. ugh, i'm sick of messing with this computer.

I bought it at microcenter so I guess I could exchange if necessary.

I didn't know that it could ground out the motherboard. Ugh.
I have this case:

The reason the computer is in a small case is because I use it to play games on my tv and it sits in my entertainment console. It sits side ways and fits perfectly. (play with xbox controller mostly) System is pretty nice for what I use it. (7870 myst with fx6300)

Ahhh. I see. Yeah, that had to be a tough job squeezing that full sized ATX board in that cramped case. The case was not really designed to be an "enthusiasts" case. Not with the PSU mounted in that up-front location. But, If the system is up and running now, chances are very good you are not grounding out or shorting out anything.
