Help freezing problem

i am having a freezing issue on my desktop pc i use for gaming. I will just freeze at any time when i am on Google or playing games or watching you tube it just freezes randomly. sometimes it gets very hot when i am gaming and freezes which i can sorta understand but other times it freezes and everything but the chipset on the motherboard will be freezing but the chipset will be scalding hot.

System specs=
AMD phenom 9500 quad-core
MSI k9a2 cf motherboard
8Gb crucial balistix ram
ati radeon hd 5870 graphics card
rosewill 1000w psu
coolermaster 912 case
fujitsu 60gb hard drive( just an old hard drive i had laying around plan on replacing soon)
windows 8 pro
Phillips dvd drive

thanks for any help you guys can give. i have run out of ideas to fix it

Wow you have an OP PSU for that build.

Try run some software updates. Windows update, as well

as scans for malware. They can make systems freeze. You can try

Avast and Malwarebytes.

Other than that, to combat the heat, you can try checking the case

for dust. Either by using a can of compressed air or by opening up the

case and cleaning it.

im still having problems with freezing do you have any other suggestions? i took off the CPU heat sink and cleaned out the dust in there and it seemed to help out a little but a few minutes ago it started freezing again.
