Of course it is. Currently cream of the crop of AMD>has all the power you need and then some. Will blow through multiple programs while gaming at the same time and still have a couple cores left over to make you some toast:)

Lol Np. Just make sure if you go with the FX 8350 to get a nice CPU cooler with it. H80i/H100i/Noctura DH-14 any one of those will le you get to a high overclock stable.

FX is a good CPU but if your main focus is gaming you may have to put a bit of an OC on it to give you a smooth experience in games that tax the CPU. It has lots of cores but the per core performance is a bit off from something like a Sandy Bridge or Ivy bridge from Intel.

But considering how rediculously easy these CPU's overclock you should have no problems squeezing out 4.5 ghz or so w/o jacking up the voltage to much.

I also suggest getting a GOOD quality PSU. Don't cheap out on this it is the most important part of your system. I'm not saying you need top of the line but get a good 80+ effecient PSU from a reputable company. In other word's dont get the "red devil" 550W PSU with flames on the side a,d a sale price of $29.99 Lol
