Hello folks,

I own an Acer Aspire One D270. Intel has released its newest driver version for GMA3600 but I am unable to install one on my Windows 7 32 Bit OS.

The installation throws a "not validated for this computer" error. I tried updating via the device manager - have disk option. It fails there too. Any inputs or links to beta drivers would be appreciated. The system runs on Intel N2600 outside with GMA3600 GPU inside.

My current driver version is 1085. The driver that I tried to install (v1091) resides here. The Acer website provides no link for the update though.

Sometimes you will have to get the driver update from the manufacturer. Acer may have added special features to the standard driver and therefore they will have to modify the new driver for your laptop, before they release it from their site. ( This is likely the case and you simply have to wait until Acer makes it available ) If that is not the case, I would only recommend completely removing the old driver first ( the system will automatically install a default windows driver in the interim, but will be very basic in function ) and then try to install the new driver. Make sure you have a copy of the old driver, just in case, or make sure that "system restore" is properly functioning, so you can use it to restore your system should things get worse. You may want to e-mail Acer to find out when it will be available or why the new Intel driver is invalid. It shouldn't be that complicated, but I have heard of people with some Sony laptops that require Sony drivers only.
