Hi

I need to know what the difference between Non modular, Modular & semi-modular are?
I plan on getting the XFX core edition 650w http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-003-XF But you see I have a 4 pin 12v connector header and a 24 pin connector header on my motherboard, Does this mean that that PSU I linked you to doesn't have that extra 4 pin connector that I don't need, Does it just have that 8 pin connector?

Please reply ASAP

Thanks

Solution
Non-modular:

The PSU comes with ALL possible cables attached to it, ready to go.
This has the advantage of ensuring you're not going to need a cable.
The downside is that it's VERY messy and if you're into cable-management, it's
a nightmare storing away all the excess cables you don't need. Bad cable-management
can mean the difference between a good or bad airflow and consequently the
operating temperature of your system.

Semi-modular:

Only some cables come pre-attached. There's less clutter and it
can be pretty alright. However it's more expensive than non-modular.

Modular:

No cables at all. You only attach the ones you need. This is ideal for
tweakers and those with deeper pockets, as it's both more expensive, but
also...

Will this Power supply come with those extenders e.g 4+4 12v connector & a 20+4 pin connector?: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-014-XF

Please reply ASAP

Thanks

^+1 all good info - your psu comes with a "- Fixed ATX12V / EPS12V: One 4+4-pin"
that is a connector that where a 4 pin is needed you only use 1/2 of the connector. On a mobo needed more current both pieces are plugged in together to for an 8 pin connector.
