Hello everyone!
you guys actually helped me out quite a lot indirctly, i read a lot of the forum posts about this issue but didnt find anything that was able to help me, wich is why i made this thread.

my specs: i5 2500k, gtx 660ti, z68 rev 3, and 4x2gb of xms3 "CMX8GX3M4A1333C9" ram.

now to the problem, it first startet when i had all 4 ram slots installed, computer ran fine for a year and a half. then suddenly for no good reason when i try starting it up it kinda started up but failed after 1/2 - 2 seconds in, after it shut down again it started up and down for about 5 times. i then read a lot of forum posts abot my ram not beeing supportet in 4slot mode (wich doesnt make any sense but...) eureka it worked with only 1 stick in the first slot! i then tried to kind of "add" more sticks and what i found was that it all accepted another stick in the third slot but if i tried putting a stick in 2 or 4 it had the same problem again.. i was puzzled but didnt really think about it too much. it worked like this for about a week, when suddenly it wouldnt boot up again ._. it does the same bootup and down after 1 sec thing no matter where and how many ram sticks are inserted. i somehow got it to work again a couple of times by putting in 4 sticks and then removing them all except for 1 and 3. i managed to get into the bios. i actually did a cmos reset before all this so all the ram settings were on auto.
well the problem is now it wont even boot when i insert all four sticks and remove em again. i really need some help. thanks in advance :)

Just so we are clear, the RAM works in slots 1 & 3, but not 2 & 4? Have you tried both sets of RAM in slots 1 & 3 to make sure they work? If each set of RAM works in slot 1 & 3, but not 2 & 4 it makes me think there's something wrong with your mobo.

well... thanks for your help, hopefully somebody else can help me
im pretty broke right now and before i go and buy some new hardware i want to be 100% certain that it is faulty.

Have you tried to run 1 ram stick in each slot? Just put in 1 ram stick in slot 1, then 2, etc. It sounds like you only did two a time. If it posts with the ram in 1 and 3 but not 2 and 4 it will be pretty clear what the problem is, right?
