Hello, I´m going to build new gaming system in beginning of next month.
I want to hear your opinions about this pc.
This system will be used for "maxed settings" gaming.
I will use only one GPU but when I will need to achieve better performance will buy another to crossfire.

My Specs:
i7-3770 (4.2Ghz) OC
Sapphire 7970 Vapor-x 3GB Ghz
Asus Maximus V Formula
G.Skill RipjawsX 8GB 1866Mhz (CL8)
Corsair HX 1050W 80Plus Gold (crossfire)
Corsair Neutron GTX 120GB SSD
WD Caviar Black 1TB 64MB
Noctua NH-D14
Cooler Master Storm Trooper Window Edition

I plan to play:
Skyrim (with some retextures and graphical mods)
Battlefield 3
Battlefield 4
Rome II Total War
GTA 5
Crysys 3
Watch Dogs

So give me your opinions about this?
Is it good gaming setup for those games?

Thanks!

You get a nice reg there but... to get batter performance you have to do this:

* Change PSU to 750W for OCing CPU 4200 and OCing GPU 1100.
* Change SSD to Samsung 840 Pro 256GB, the highest performance 100.000/95.000 IOPS for rendering and 540/520 MBs Read/Write and install all you games on it, so you can reduce the HDD to 500 GB.
*If you plane in future to OC CPU to more with GPU make the PSU 850W gold or platinum.

Have a nice day :)

It is the “k” version of the 3770 because of the 4.2Ghz OC.

One of the best investments you will make in a high performance PC is the PSU. Overkill is good when it comes to PSUs. So keep the big PSU and rest easy that too little power will never be a problem. Definitely get a better and bigger SSD; you will be surprised at how fast it fills up, even when you’re vigilant about installing and saving to your HDD. I’d recommend 256GB. If you’re a big-time speed junky, then you might need a little more room on the SSD itself for some future, super demanding game. (Also, if you MUST have the speediest performance, consider maxing out your RAM so that you can have available RAM for a RAM disk.)

Your config will play those games very well at high settings. But “maxed settings” is not always a clear term. For example, if you crank up all your anti-aliasing options to max in Crysis 3, then your fps are going to drop---probably to an unacceptable level. For another example, if you have a 120+ hz monitor, will you expect more than 100 fps on maxed settings at 1080? If so, then, no, this config will not perform as you expect. But overall, yes, at very high settings at 1080 and at reasonable AA or no AA, this system will perform fantastically.

Also, if you ever intend to x-fire another 7970, let’s hope AMD finally gets the microstuttering under control.

Good luck and good gaming!

Not with OCing CPU @ GPU
