My comp is:
AMD FX6100 3.3ghz not OC
8gb ram
700W power supply
ASROCK N68-VS3 FX mother board, 8 core compatibility
EVGA gtx 670 FTW

When i play BF# the FPS tends to jump from 30FPS all the way to 80+ FPS, The game is on ultra 1920x1080 with AA off. Even if my CPU is bottle necking the GPU it still should give a consistant 60fps. Can someone help me please?

since when? vsync isn't on so the fps will be all over the place.

overclock the cpu, and turn on vsync. that will give you consistent framerates. it's 30fps sometimes because the cpu is bottlenecking the system. with a solid overclock that will go away.

I tried to OC the comp and I did it super slow. I actually made it only 3.4ghz from 3.3, i also tried 3,5ghz, and for sum reason the comp just freezes up the first 5 min of running prime95, OCCT, even while defraging and running small programs the comp froze (the temp was also super low ata bout 35 to 40C). I put it back to 3.3 and it never froze again. Am I OCing wrong. I went into bios, went to the OC tweaker tab, switched the Core multiplier from 19.5 to 20.0. Th volts were at 1,25 so i didnt touch that. I disableled cool and quiet and also disabled turbo boost. Could it be my motherboard that is causing the problem? The comp is only 6 months old.

ahhhh... yeah... your mb is the issue.

Its a 4+1 power phase system... with no heatsinks on the mosfets. In short you probably won't be able to overclock much more then modestly.

you probably were running into problems because you weren't' feeding enough vcore into the system on your overclock... but with a 4+1 mosfet motherboard, its doubtful you'll be able to safely shove much power into the cpu anyway.

try it with vsync, that should limit the lag spikes, and keep the frame rates a lot more stable. No promises, but it should work.

Don't buy a new motherboard for that system just to overclock the processor. The best option would be a new CPU, like a 3470 or 3570k. The newest AMD CPU's are good too, like the 8320/8350, but I would go with intel due to higher performance in most games.

can you give me specific links to the I5 processor and a MOBO? I am on a budget of atleast 300 dollars including both processor and mobo. Will this be possible with an I5.

Also is their any way if i switch that i will be able to still use the same ram i am using on my ASROCK N68-VS3 FX right now.

Any DDR3 RAM will work, 1.5V 1600mhz is optimal though.

That is a good bundle, if it was me though I would probably spend a little more on a 3570k and Z77 motherboard plus a good air cooler like a Hyper 212. This will allow you to overclock the processor up to around 4.4Ghz, improving performance.

Another idea is to wait until June and see what Intel's new Haswell line of CPU's brings to the table.
