Current PC:
AMD FX6100 3.3ghz
EVGA GTX670 FTW
700 WATT power supply
8 gb ram
Windows 7
ASROCK N68-VS3-FX motherboard

I went into bios, went to the OC tweak tab.
I turned off cool and quit, i disabled turbo boost
Then i turned the core multiplier from 19.5 to 20.0, The ghz changed from 3.3 to 3.4. I kept the vots the same which were about 1.25V

I ran prime95 and OCCT. Entire comp froze. The temp of the CPU was at 40C which is super low. The comp also froze while running simple programs such as defrag ect....

I tried to change multiplier to 20.5 making it 3.5 ghz and still the same thing happened. I turned it back to 3.3ghz and comp has not frozen at all.

Can someone tell me if In doing something wrong. I need to OC the comp because my GPU is being bottlenecked.

Also someone suggested that its my MOBO.

There seems to be a voltage problem. Try raising the voltage slightly... Even though the stock voltage should be enough for a few hundred more MHz... But some CPUs are lower quality than average, so you may have a poor overclocking chip.

Just a little. I'd only go up by maybe 0.0250V.

Yes to an extent. Don't just mindlessly keep pushing voltage up as it can be damaging. So don't push it too high.
