I got an Acer Aspire 7736Z-4809 from my dad a few years back as a hand-me-down. The advertised capacity of the hard drive is 320 GB. However, when I open "My computer", the sum of the capacities of the two partitions (C: and D: ) sums 286 GB (143 GB each).
I realize that there is some "loss" of space due to the different nomenclature (base two vs base ten). But I'm pretty sure it doesn't equate to a nearly 11% loss. According to information I read elsewhere, I should still have 297 GB of "real" space (for a 320-gig drive). Where are my other 11 gigs?
