Opinions and/or suggestions for my first build

Alright, so this will be my first build ever. I thought about going through iBuyPower, but after doin some research I figured, "Why not do it myself and save some money to upgrade a bit?". I plan on doing the assembly myself, as I've got an intermediate knowledge of computers and the dynamics of how they operate.

Budget: around $1100 and this build hits right around that mark. Hoping to purchase within the next few days, as the discounts/rebates that apply to these parts are expiring soon. Everything I have on here is from newegg.com

Build usage: mostly gaming, normal use and everyday computing needs.

Location: Tampa, FL

Here's the build config I've got for this minute:

Box: NZXT Phantom 410 ATX Mid-Tower
MoBo: ASUS P8Z77-V LK LGA 1155 Intel Z77
CPU: Intel Core i5-3570K Ivy Bridge
Cooler: COOLER MASTER Hyper 212 EVO
GPU: EVGA SuperClocked GeForce GTX 660 2GB
RAM: G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 1600
PSU: Corsair Builder Series CX600 600w v2.3
Primary HD: ADATA XPG SX900 2.5" 64GB SATA III MLC SSD
Data HD: WD Black 1TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5"
Optical Drive: LG 24X DVD Burner - Bare Drive Black SATA
OS: Windows 8 64 bit

I plan on throwing the OS on the SSD along with maybe my most played/used games and programs. All other data and programs will be on the 1TB HDD.

I don't plan on going for more than 1 GPU, but I do plan to do some OC'ing once I get more familiar with the process.

Any opinion/suggestions/ideas about my setup and ways that it could be improved would be fantasmic. I've labored quite a bit over this, but I'm new to building and could use some advice. Thanks!

Splendid
You will see better results with a 660 ti over a superclocked 660 as it has alot more cuda cores and rivals the 670 in preformance that way but other then that it seems to be a pretty decent build. I would also suggest windows 7 over windows 8 as windows 8 has alot of bugs and has problems with some games.

You're probably right, but the 660 ti is like a $100 increase from the superclocked 2gb 660 - a price jump that I can't really afford. Wish I could.
On the vain of windows 8 and 7, what's the big idea? Is 8 just not new enough to have enough updates and drivers and bug fixes yet? Can anyone else shed some light on that topic and voice their opinion?
