Hello everyone! I currently have 2 500gb sata hard drives running together with raid 0. I found out that one of the hard drives is about to fail after about 4 years of use (I received a SMART error). I also bought a 1tb hard drive (single one) to replace my old 2 hard drives.

I have done a bit of research and just want to make sure I will be doing this correctly.

1) Make a bootable Clonezilla CD
2) Boot off the clonezilla cd and copy my current hd to an external hard drive
3) Go into my BIOS and disable RAID 0
4) Power off and install my new 1 TB Single hard drive
5) Boot up computer and allow drivers to install themselves.
6) Restart and boot up from clonezilla bootable CD and copy the cloned file from the external hard drive to the NEW hard drive
7) Finished?

I found that some people needed to partition their drives after installing? Do I need to do that when using clonezilla? I am completely new to installing hard drives and would love as much information as possible. I know some hardware and software things but keep the lingo and steps basic enough

If you can help me or give me step by step solutions or if there is even an easier workaround let me know please! I am very nervous!
