just purchased an i7 3770k and need a motherboard. how is the BIOSTAR TZ77B? reliability issues? I wont be running SLI/crossfire or overclocking the system.

It also comes with 8gb of Crucial Ballistix Sport 8GB 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 memory - anyone know if this memory is any good?

The whole deal is $102 CDN which seems like a decent deal.

Biostar in general is crap. That board does not have the best reviews either.

You can see here they compare the BIostar with the Asrock Z77 Pro 3 which is of lot lower quality than the Extreme 4...

This is not true! Biostar has made boards long before most others got started. They have always made a reliable long lasting board. They just do not cost very much, So the less educated automatically think it's no good. The real reason Biostar lost popularity was because when others started making high end boards Biostar did not follow suit until years later. I have owned many Biostar boards in the past and never had any problems. I currently have a TZ77A running my current Ivy setup. And it has been a very stable board for almost two years. It has all the features of any other expensive board. And I only paid around $60 for it. It was because of that board, I was able to go with a i5-3470 instead of a FX-8320. Yes the 8320 is a good chip, But price for price the i5 is a much better choice. And I wanted a cool/quiet system without having to buy extras.

Splendid
If you look at any benchmark of a biostarboard compared to any other mobo running an i5. Any other mobo gets higher performance running the same i5 it's sad. Every biostar board ive encountered in the wild of fixing computers has had issues and querks. Biostar is garbage might aswell buy foxconn lol
