I'm looking to buy a new motherboard. It will be used mainly for gaming. I also plan to do some overclocking. I'm looking to spend no more than 160-170 ish.

Boards I have in mind: asus m5a99fx pro R2.0 or Evo 2.0, maybe a Sabertooth 990fx r2.0 gen3. I am open to any suggestions.

System specs
CPU:fx-8350
CPU cooler: corsair h80i
Case: NZXT phantom 820
Motherboard:undecided
Memory:8gb of corsair vengeance
Storage:120gb Kingston hyperx 3k SSD and 500gb WD 7200 rpm caviar black
Video card:EVGA geforce gtx 660

If you are not planning to xfire, the 970 chipset boards would be less expensive.

I'm a big fan of the sabertooth boards and I've put them in 2 out of 6 client builds in the last 18 months. I have the gigabyte 990FXA-UD3 myself, and my only complaint is that the north bridge gets pretty hot.

Sabertooth is going to be way better the the M5A. I had an m4a88td-v evo, which was nice but not quite as nice. the m5a is the successor series.

One last thought, I have the H100i. If it uses the same software as the H80i, get ready for a headache. At this stage, I only use it to control the nifty LEDs.

I'm not that worried about the price for it as long as it is under 160ish. Any suggestions on a specific board?

What would your suggest I do for a cooler then? I know many people say that water cooling is not worth the extra money for how little the performance boost is over air coolers but I want to go with water cooling. Also should I get the Sabertooth r2.0 gen3 that has pci 3.0 for like 15$ more?
