For some reason my microphone is playing my computer's sounds. I can tell because other people can hear the music that I am playing on my computer instead of my voice. I cannot figure out what the problem is. I've tried installing and uninstalling realtek hd audio and changing settings but I just can't figure this out.

Check to ensure your recording settings are not Stereo Mix. It HAS to to be mic or front port mic.

Also, if you set the sensitivity or volume of the mic too loud, then even quiet sounds will be picked up by the mic.

My recording device is set to Microphone High Definition Audio Device Default Device, and the volume is 50 boost is 0.0 dB. When I talk into the mic nothing happens (and no it is not muted) but when I play a song the detection goes up and down, meaning it is picking up the computer sounds. Do you think it has to do with my motherboard? I think when I installed the realtek audio drivers it started to happen.

That is VERY strange. Maybe roll back the drivers.
