Yesterday night, I came home from work to turn on my computer, I checked if my friends were online, they weren't. So I closed my game, to my computers fans going nuts. I opened up HWmonitor, and all temperatures were normal.
CPU was at 45c
Vid card was at 60c

So i figured it was the fact that it was the real first day of summer here, and it did hit 90.
After that i watched tv for about an hour to come back to HW monitor saying that TMPin2 was at 300 Fahrenheit, so I powered it off, and opened the case, after smelling a plastic burn smell, I figured it had happened. TMpin2 was never on HWmonitor before, so i was at a loss.
And low and behold the motherboard is fried, I removed the CPU to find that the setting for it also looks a little brownish, I have had problems with the heating before, but usually blowing out the heat sink and reapplying thermal paste works.

I wanted to know if anyone could tell me what overheated?
I actually have pictures.

I know its a little dusty, but I live with two smokers, and i just dusted about two months ago:

My computer is 3-4 years old.
Specs:
MB ASUS M4A88T-V EVO/USB3
PSU OCZ|OCZ700MXSP 700W RT
CPU AMD|PH II X6 1075T 3.0G AM3 RT
MEM 2Gx4|GSKILL F3-12800CL9D-4GBRL
VGA SAPPHIRE|100315L HD6850
HD 1T| SEAGATE 7K ST31000528AS
CASE ThermalTake| VL10001W2Z BK RT

As I said before, this computer is 3-4 years old, and right now, I have a PSU tester being sent, I'm hoping the rest is salvageable.
And since there's no turning back, and I'm going to have to buy a new motherboard and processor, I would ask for recommendations for a motherboard/PCU combo for under 400$, since this is my third AMD with heating problems I'm leaning towards Intel. Anyhelp would be great, and thanks for taking a look.

Solution
If you're into overclocking, get a CPU with the "K" suffix (i5-3570K, i7-3770K), and you'll also need a Z77 motherboard. Get the i7 if you're doing video editing, 3D rendering and whatnot. Get the i5 if most of your usage is gaming. If you're not into overclocking, get the i5-3470 and an H77/B75 boards (preferably H77).

For Z77 motherboards, here's what I recommend

ASRock Z77 Extreme6
Asus P8Z77-V
Gigabyte GA-Z77X-D3H
Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UD3H
MSI Z77A-GD55

For B75 and H77

ASRock B75 Pro3
Asus P8B75-M LE
Gigabyte GA-B75M-D3H
Gigabyte GA-B75M-D3V
MSI B75A-G43
ASRock H77 Pro4/MVP
Gigabyte GA-H77-DS3H
MSI H77MA-G43

Eg. An i5-3570K and an MSI...

Eg. An i5-3570K and an MSI Z77A-GD55 would come around $350 depending on where you buy, and that is quite a good combo.

Another thing to note though if you're not rushing to buy, I suggest wait until Intel's Haswell and next gen motherboards to come out (which is in June).

Well, im not big into overclocking, as in I'm sort of intrested, but never really done much with it, So i might go with the i5-3570K and an MSI Z77A-GD55 combo.
But I will probably wait til june before ordering, just to see the haswell, and see what people have to say about the old PSU's.
Did u see the pictures in my post? I see that they're gone now.
