So I got an external HDD 2tb toshiba model HDWC120XK3J1, after saving a program on it it began to act weird and slow, next i disconected and when i reconnected took a long time to recognize and when one click it it doesnt display the capacity. Another issue is whenever i try to open it windows becomes unresponsive. I have tried diskpart and it displays an error, I'm running chkdsk/r/f/x and its really slow checking it. also tried a third party formatting software and it becomes unresponsive as well. I can hear the disk speaning and there is no ticking noise nor scratching either. Please i accept suggestions on what could be done to save the HDD, also if the data can be recovered would be cool but it's not a priority.

Solution
Ok, so after some time canceled the chkdsk because it didnt go to even 1% and the diskpart got stuck trying to format it. Finally came to this program called HDD Low Level Format I'll leave the link http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/Hard-Disk-Utils/HDD-Low-Level-Format-Tool.shtml . That finally worked in the formating part of it. Now i had to create a partition which was easy with diskpart, after that i openned it in disk manager and created a leter and had to reformat. Seems like my HDD is failing becuase of a really loud clicking noise. Hope this helps other people who might have the same problem and doesnt kills your HDD like it did to me
