Fastest way to store/retrieve data from an external drive?

Solution
If you want it cheap and a massive storage space, i recommend buying the 3.5 inch drive, because of its size its cheaper and give you plenty of space, make sure it is usb 3 supported, that would be the most optimal as far as i can see

These drives come with enclosures, so you wont have to worry about that, i recommend seagate

The best connection speed you get from ESATA if you have one on you laptop.
Then you can have External ESATA Enclosure and you can add SATA 3 HDD or SSD in that enclosure.
Using SSD vs HDD is allays better but not cheaper if you deal with a lot of small files SSD will shine for sure :)

I`ll not advise you to buy refurbished storage of any type !

In that case any USB 3.0 External 2,5 or 3,5 HDD will do pick one suite to you $ and storage space you need !
