Hi, I have bought a 1TB Barracuda Drive.

But i'm getting errors as follow.

Disk operates normally but some times disk freezes followed by a beep [don't know from which HDD or Mobo] During the freezing time i can't open any file,if any video is being played it also freezes, applications opened shows normally but can't do any operation. Some times even can't move mouse pointer.

as drive freezes some times OS files also get corrupted & i have to check drive with windows error checking tool.

Then i check it with sea tools.Use the [fix all-->fast] But it got error as follows.

--------------- SeaTools for Windows v1.2.0.8 ---------------

Beep sound & disk freeze seems like due to power failure,But i have checked my PSU & it has no problem.

Don't think if it's due power outage.

My system-

Mobo-Asus P8Z68 V-PRO Gen3

PSU-I ball Sprinter 600

HDD-Barracuda ST1000DM003 1TB

I have Warranty Until July-26-2013...
So, is this a disk error & i should go to service center or some other component error.

I bought my PC 11 months back [but in seagate it's showing 1 year warranty while it should have 2 year, why?]

Thanks...

It looks as though the Sea Tools analysis is giving you a "Test Code". You should go to Seagates RMA site and send them the Test Code number and they will probably be able to tell you if it should be sent in. The warranty may have originally been one year, but they changed it after it was manufactured. I had a bad Seagate drive years ago and I remember it went smoothly and they replaced it in only a few days!
