Months ago i noticed my games lagging extremely to the point of not playable at all. Ive struggled with it since then, and 2 days ago i formatted my whole PC, meaning it should be optimal for gaming. Playing Metro Last Light (1 hour) was beautiful, until after that pointed it started lagging again. I checked the gpu temperature and it was 80, 90, 95+, meaning my card could be burnt any time now. So just to add that just a week ago i played games and my PC was stuttering at all times, meaning FPS loss in every second the video lost a milisecond what is extremely irritating, but the GPU was working just normaly. you will put 2 and 2 together and realize that GPU was the problem,(u can say it wasnt working on its full should be capacity) because now, working normaly, it is really overheating.

I do plan to clean it throughly, i just want to ask if there are any other solutions, anyone would be familiar with?.

Ty in advance

PS: this would be my model, not the ones with only 1 FAN in the blackish box. so cleaning is different

Solution
Take the side panel off the system, boot up and check the fans are turning, it's not unknown for fans to die quietly.
Otherwise you need to get that plan in motion pronto!
Best bet is to remove the entire heatsink assembly and replace the thermal compound while the card is out for cleaning.
In addition to a good quality Phillips screwdriver you will also need some cleaning fluid to remove the old stuff and a good replacement thermal compound, like Arctic Silver, avoid the plain white generic goo, it has poor performance.

All 3 of them are running. Should i clean, and apply the thermal paste anyway?.
