@mrgiggity: yes it will work on your current system but your current proc will likely bottleneck the HD7850 in high-end games, this is however not a big problem since if you upgrade your system in the future e.g. new proc, new mobo and new RAM, you will be able to use or take the new HD7850 in the new system.
I would also recommend that you start to plan for major PC upgrade.
