As you all know there is a new generations of consoles coming up later this year. New systems mean new game engines. The battlefield 4 and watch dogs gameplay have really blown my mind with their visuals. This thing have being bother me. Its scary to see how the low reqirements are rising up. I can play crysis 3 and metro last light at 1366* 768 with all settings on low and far cry 3 and arkham city at medium settings. These are my system specs:
Core i7 2670qm 2.2 ghz
gt 550m 2gb vram
4gb ram
So do you think that this might be future proof, maybe at least the next two years ? It doesn't need to be on high. maybe about low-medium on full screen.

The big problem with gaming laptops is they aren't upgradeable, you're stuck with what you buy. Generally speaking, if you want to maintain high settings on all the latest games for 2+ years, you have to spend a lot of money, probably around $2000+. Most budget gaming laptops will only have entry level to lower midrange gaming GPUs that might be adequate for what's out today, but will fall into obsolescence quickly. As said above, you're better off with a desktop system if you want to be able to play every title well for more than a 1 or 2 year period.
