Hello

Since the Xbox One was just announced with also Blu-ray, all consoles now have Blu-ray Wii U, Playstation 4 and Xbox One so now I should get a Blu-ray drive to make backups of course ;)
What is the best Blu-Ray reader/writer out that? Has to support writing to CDs (all varients), DVDs, (all varients) and of course Blu-ray (all varients).

Currently my DVD writer is hooked up to IDE which I perfer but I believe they only make them SATA now right?

Solution
I have two LG and one pioneer Blu-ray burners - NO problem with either.

You have three options.
1) Buy a SATA Blu-ray burner and If you do nopt have a sata Port then,
.. then Buy a PCI card to give you a sata Interface.
ie http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=4093&IsNodeId=1&Description=pci%20sata%20card&name=%2410%20-%20%2425&Order=BESTMATCH
or an
adaptor
.. ie http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812270356

2) Go with a USB external drive (Hopefully you have USB2.0 - Probably slower than internal drive.

3) Search the web for a IDE version.

Shipped from china BUT a whole lot cheaper: http://www.dhgate.com/panasonic-sw-5582-c-2x-blu-ray-burner-bd/p-ff8080813c8ac5be013c9d75c80f6d60.html
NOTE: Couple of years ago I wanted a Sata Internal slimeline Blu-ray ROM/DVD-RW drive for a laptop. Stateside price, the cheapest I could find was $200 (IDE version was ONLY $100). ended up buying from Taiwan for $100, Price included shipping which they sent Airmail and I had it within week.

We will see ;)

Anyways, jokes aside, its time to buy a Blu-ray....

Yeah, I saw a Asus I liked that has BDXL or however it is officially called. Can't find it in Europe though.

Could you point one out that supports BDXL?
