I recently changed the motherboard in my DV2000 HP, replacing with a board from a V3000 compaq that uses the same HP part number board. It flashes a Compaq logo on start up. Does anyone know if i can flash the BIOS with the matching BIOS from the DV2000 to get the HP logo instead?

Thanks for the input. That may turn out to be sound advice, but it doesn't answer the question. Does anyone actually know the answer? If it turns out to be a dangerous thing to do, I wouldn't do it. But what if it is no more complicated or risky than updating the BIOS, since it is pretty likely that the logo is just a bitmap contained in the ROM.
